Teaching Physics at Newman

Teaching Physics at Newman is a rewarding opportunity to build relationships, curiosity, and capacity with our talented junior class. Students tackle big ideas like forces, motion, energy and waves, then apply mathematical tools to formalize their understanding. Labs aren’t add-ons, they’re central to learning. Students design experiments, collect data, troubleshoot equipment, and connect theory to reality. On a daily basis in our labs, you might see motion sensors, optics benches, lasers, lenses and even bowling balls!

A student-centered educator who embodies our philosophy, "We learn to do by doing," thrives in this environment. Check out our recent success at the New Orleans Science Fair!
