Job Description & Qualification
The Freeman School of Business and The Murphy Institute Center for Public Policy Research at Tulane University invite applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Fellow in Accounting, starting July 1, 2025, with review for a second year following the annual review.
The fellow will collaborate with Freeman School faculty on interdisciplinary research in financial reporting, disclosure, and municipal finance. We welcome applicants specializing in public sector financial reporting, municipal finance, or health economics and policy. Strong research skills—such as web scraping, textual analysis, and handling unstructured data—are highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate potential for impactful research leading to top-tier publications.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field by the start date. The fellow will be supervised by a Tulane faculty member and is expected to successfully complete their research assignment at Tulane, dedicate their scholarship to producing high-quality research, and actively participate in Murphy Institute events and contribute to Tulane’s intellectual community. Teaching at another institution and outside employment during the appointment is prohibited.
