Medical Doctor, Emergency Medicine Physician
Ochsner Healths Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a motivated academic emergency physician to join our growing Division of Emergency Ultrasound, with the unique opportunity to serve as Program Director in establishing our Advanced Emergency Ultrasonography Fellowship. This position is ideal for an ultrasound fellowship trained emergency physician with a passion for program development, mentorship, and advancing point-of-care ultrasound education at a major academic medical center.
The Division of Emergency Ultrasound has experienced substantial growth alongside the launch of our Emergency Medicine residency program in 2020. The division currently consists of three ultrasound fellowship trained emergency physicians and is fully integrated into the departments clinical and educational mission. We have a robust infrastructure in place including five dedicated ultrasound machines, established billing practices, a Qpath-based quality assurance workflow, and a broad procedural scope encompassing nerve blocks and endocavitary examinations.
The division oversees comprehensive ultrasound education and resident rotations, providing a strong foundation for the development of an advanced fellowship program. The Fellowship Program Director will lead the creation and administration of the fellowship, with active support from existing division faculty.
