About the DepartmentThe Department of Emergency Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is a well-established department that sees 75,000+ visits/year as a tertiary referral center for the larger Ochsner Health System. The department welcomed its first class of Emergency Medicine Residents in 2020 and has seen continued rapid growth in the clinical enterprise. The Emergency Medicine Service Line is the 2020‑2021 Outstanding Clinical Service Line for the Ochsner Health System.
The department is currently recruiting for more Academic Faculty positions at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus as we continue to expand.
We are seeking American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine certified/eligible physicians, preferably with fellowship or additional niche training and a passion for residency education. We are particularly interested in physicians who are fellowship trained with experience in Simulation, EMS, Ultrasound, or who have experience in Quality and Patient Safety and Operations.
Requirements- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine (American or Osteopathic)
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., Simulation, EMS, Ultrasound, Quality & Patient Safety, Operations)
- Passion for residency education and academic growth
- Renewable to federal employment (no J1 visa opportunities)
