Clinical Track, Assistant / Associate Professor - Endourology/Stones/BPH
The Department of Urology at Tulane University School of Medicine seeks a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Endourologist to join our full-time faculty. Our department operates as a tertiary care practice located in downtown New Orleans and adjacent Metairie.
Responsibilities- Maintain outpatient and surgical practice at East Jefferson Hospital and manage the urology service there.
- Handle emergency room consultations and participate in the new urology clinic being established.
- Contribute to University Medical Center coverage, including on-call responsibilities for the emergency department and in-patient consultations shared by the faculty.
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Endourologist.
- Expertise in Endourology (including shockwave lithotripsy, ureteroscopy, PCNL, and prostate enucleation).
- Eligible for a Louisiana medical license; fully credentialed at Tulane University Hospital prior to the start date.
- Clinician-scholar with interest in clinical and translational research; opportunity for basic science research collaboration within Tulane’s Urology Department.
The academic appointment will be through Tulane University School of Medicine. This is a clinical position that involves training urology residents and fellows, educating medical students, and participating in research and scholarly activities.
Practice EnvironmentSelected candidates will be part of an expanding medical practice that includes East Jefferson General Hospital and the state-owned University Medical Center, with possible opportunities at the New Orleans VA Medical Center.
