Overview
The Department of Cardiology at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a cardiologist who is BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation to join our team.
QualificationsBC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. J-1 visa opportunities available through FLEX Waiver.
Responsibilities- Join a multidisciplinary Advanced Heart Failure team and contribute to inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services.
- Collaborate with an amyloidosis clinic, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinic, and the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic (PHA certified) run by the Advanced Heart Failure Team.
- Participate in the cardiogenic shock initiative and academic inpatient team dynamics within Ochsner Health.
- Engage in inpatient, outpatient, and outreach activities as part of a growing academic environment.
The Ochsner Advanced Heart Failure team currently performs approximately 35 LVAD implantations and 25-30 heart transplants per year. The department includes 45 cardiologists at the academic medical center, part of a larger group of 80 cardiologists across nine locations, affiliated with John Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute. The Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute leads heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, and dual organ transplantation.
