The inspector will work under the direction of a client representative who may not be onsite for the full duration of the project, requiring the inspector to work independently while maintaining consistent communication and reporting.

The position involves extended work hours, potential weekend work, and exposure to varying field conditions, including land, marsh, and water‑based environments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections for pipeline‑related construction and maintenance activities, including:
    • Land and water pipeline digs
    • Line section replacement
    • Hydrostatic testing
    • Marsh and caisson repair activities
  • Monitor contractor work to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards
  • Document daily activities, observations, and issues encountered in the field
  • Communicate regularly with the client representative regarding progress, concerns, and field conditions
  • Work independently onsite when the client representative is not present
  • Support project schedules that may require extended hours and weekend work, particularly during critical activities such as line replacement and hydrotesting
Qualifications
  • Prior experience inspecting pipeline construction, repair, or maintenance projects
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Land and marsh pipeline repairs
    • Water‑based pipeline work
    • Caisson repairs
  • Ability to work independently in the field with limited onsite supervision
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours (typically five 10‑hour days per week) and weekends as required
  • Availability to begin as early as March to shadow ongoing work, with availability extending through project‑based assignments dependent on the 2026 work schedule
