  • Maintain a professional attitude with staff, parents, volunteers, and children at all times. Greet parents and children during a bus route.
  • Carry out all duties related to caring for children and supervising them while they are aboard the bus.
  • Ensure children board and leave the bus safely.
  • Ensure children are seated in an age-appropriate child restraint system and behave properly during transportation.
  • Conduct educational activities during transit to extend and reinforce classroom learning, such as singing, storytelling, visual games, or quiet activities.
  • Account for children and ensure they are safely in their designated classroom upon arrival.
  • Check the bus after children unload to ensure all children and personal belongings are off the bus.
  • Ensure children are returned to parents or authorized adults.
  • Assist with the cleanliness and orderliness of the bus and center.
  • Deliver messages, notes, and materials between Center Staff and parents as needed.
  • Assist in obtaining and documenting In-Kind (Non-Federal Match) contributions for parent and community activities.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and staffing as requested.
  • Participate in annual Transportation Trainings.
  • Assist the bus driver with conducting Bus Emergency Evacuation drills and Transportation Safety for Children training.
  • Perform other duties necessary for the efficient operation of the center and the welfare of the children.
  • Manage data in designated areas.
  • Help ensure compliance and prevent fraud in designated areas of the Center.

Pay: $12.35/hr

Hours: Part-Time/Non-Exempt position, Mon.

-Fri., with work hours from 6:00 am to 8:30 am and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Hours may vary depending on enrollment and routes.
