GENERAL OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Principal, is responsible for coordinating the activities of the school office. Must perform routine clerical duties in a professional and businesslike manner. The position requires the independent exercise of judgment in accordance with School Board policy and procedure. The School Secretary must exercise discretion and the appropriate level of confidentiality in
dealing with the public, school district employees, and Board members.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
? Serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors providing information and relaying
messages.
? Answers phones, takes messages, and directs calls.
? Receives and distributes mail.
? Assists with data entry, filing and preparing reports.
? Types correspondence as requested by the principal.
? Communicates school policies, procedures, and regulations.
? Manages student and staff records, including attendance, admissions, and transfers.
? Assists with student registration, enrollment and other related processes.
? Manages inventory of office supplies and school materials, operates office equipment, and provides assistance to
staff
? Duplicates materials.
? Ensures compliance with school and district policies and procedures.
? Handles confidential information with discretion.
? Maintains office files and databases.
? Organizes and maintains office supplies and equipment.
? Assists with planning school events and meetings.
? Assists with bookkeeping tasks such as budget management, tracking expenditures, and handling financial
records.
? Administers first aid, disburses medication to students and contacts parents in case of student illness.
? Performs any additional duties assigned by the Principal or appropriate Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years of responsible clerical experience to include the
use of computers and standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel; or an equivalent
combination of training and experience. Excellent keyboard and communication skills are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
