SummaryManages the daily operations for an academic area or academic center of the Freeman School of Business, as part of the Academic Services Group. Assists full‑time and adjunct faculty, coordinates special assignments, and manages student workers to achieve departmental goals. Strategically plans and manages faculty recruiting activities in partnership with the Dean’s Office and/or Area Coordinator, and/or academic center director. Coordinates travel and accommodations for guest speakers and faculty candidates, including compiling accurate expense reports.
Assists Director of Employee Engagement with mentoring new staff on operational procedures.
- Experience in budget and expense control
- Ability to work without direct supervision essential
- Ability to use online retrieval systems
- Ability to initiate promotional materials and compose correspondences
- Excellent telephone and communication skills
- Ability to design, create, and maintain databases
- Willingness to learn new skills on a frequent basis
- Outstanding grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills absolutely necessary for editing
- Excellent word‑processing skills/Microsoft Office Package
Education and/or Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree with two years of relevant work experience in the administration, coordination and support of programs and/or projects
- OR A High School Diploma together with five years of relevant work experience, the last three of which in administration, coordination and support of programs and/or projects
- At least five years office management work preferred
