Location: New Orleans
Pousada Management oversees a portfolio of short-term rental and hospitality properties, managing day-to-day operations, guest experience, and financial performance across multiple locations. We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Bookkeeper to manage property-level accounting, ensure clean financials, and support year-end reporting.
Role OverviewThe Bookkeeper will be responsible for day-to-day accounting across multiple properties
, maintaining accurate books, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close
. This role works closely with leadership and external CPAs to ensure timely, accurate, and well-organized financial reporting.

- Maintain accurate books for multiple properties and entities
- Record and categorize income and expenses by property
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms
- Track operating expenses, vendor payments, and reimbursements
- Ensure proper allocation of shared expenses across properties
- Reconcile bookings and payouts from platforms (e.g., Airbnb, VRBO, PMS systems)
- Track occupancy-based income and identify discrepancies
- Assist with reporting on property-level performance
- Prepare month-end close and basic financial statements
- Support year-end close and provide clean books to CPA
- Assist with 1099 tracking and documentation
- Maintain organized financial records and audit-ready documentation
- Generate property-level P&Ls and summary reports
- Identify inconsistencies or areas for improved financial tracking
- Help refine bookkeeping processes as the portfolio grows
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Experience with property management, hospitality, or multi-entity accounting strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Quick Books Online (or similar accounting software)
- Strong understanding of reconciliations and expense categorization
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple properties
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and responsiveness in a remote setting
