As a Databricks Lead Engineer (Senior Manager level), you will take technical ownership of complex analytics and data engineering initiatives, with a strong focus on Databricks-based platforms. You will lead the design, development, optimisation, and governance of large-scale data solutions, particularly within healthcare systems, ensuring high standards of data quality, reliability, compliance, and performance.
The role blends hands-on technical leadership with mentoring, architecture ownership, and close collaboration with stakeholders to deliver impactful, long-lasting transformation.

Responsibilities- Design scalable data architectures, including data lakes and lakehouse solutions
- Define data models and produce high-level technical design documentation
- Build and optimise complex batch and streaming data pipelines using PySpark, Scala, Delta Lake, and SQL
- Lead and mentor data engineering teams, promoting best practices and technical excellence
- Review, manage, and maintain high-quality, reliable, and compliant production code
- Implement data governance, quality controls, security measures, and data lineage frameworks
- Manage Databricks environments, clusters, and workflows across cloud platforms
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git and Azure Dev Ops
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Over 5 years of experience in data engineering and software engineering roles
- Strong hands-on expertise with Databricks, including PySpark or Scala, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and SQL
- Experience designing and delivering scalable data platforms on Azure or AWS
- Proven ability to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and manage stakeholders
- Solid understanding of data modelling, data governance, and data quality practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Ops practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in complex, matrix environments
