Team Member, Petsense

This position involves interacting with customers and team members, supporting sales initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while delivering exceptional customer service.

As a Team Member, you should be flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, capable of fulfilling the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support selling initiatives by:
• Thanking customers
• Engaging with customers and pets
• Advising on products or services
• Making customer interactions memorable
• Perform a variety of duties including:
• Operating cash registers and handling transactions accurately
• Merchandise recovery and assembly
• Participating in freight processing and merchandising resets
• Performing janitorial duties and assisting with loading purchases
• Ensuring the safety and care of live animals
• Completing all related documentation

No prior experience is required; retail or pet/live animal knowledge is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not mandatory. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

• Knowledge of pets, pet food, and pet products is preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

• Indoor environment with moderate noise levels.
• Work shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours, including outdoor and store areas.
• Adherence to safety guidelines is mandatory.

• Must be able to move quickly and safely throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to lift and reach merchandise overhead, often up to 50 pounds.
• Constant standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing are required.
