Pediatric Advice Registered Nurse
(Full‑time, Temp‑to‑Hire, Contract)

A full‑time, temp‑to‑hire contract opportunity with a well‑known client in Los Gatos, CA—onsite only.

This center provides comprehensive, preventive, and primary care services for children.

Shifts: Monday‑Friday 8:15 am and 5:15 pm.

• Active/unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California
• At least one year of experience in a pediatric setting
• Two or more years of experience as an Advice Nurse
• Experience working in a high‑volume clinic
• Professional, knowledgeable, friendly, outgoing, etc.

• Function as a primary liaison between patient and physician via phone
• Implement the entire nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) for an assigned group of patients and provide evidence‑based, efficient, effective care
• Provide counseling, health education, and training programs
• Deliver general education and nursing care to patients by telephone
• Triage and schedule patients as appropriate, ensuring appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations
• Document clinical information, including patient phone calls, and maintain accurate, complete patient documentation according to medical practice standards
• Coordinate and integrate services within the clinic by collaborating continually with physicians
• Communicate appropriate referral choices to community physicians
• Respond to and resolve patient/family questions and needs
• Assist with procedures and some injections
• Perform medication inventory checks

• Ability to connect with patients/parents, provide accurate advice/triage while maintaining a personable level of care
• Comfortable working autonomously
• Prior experience using MS Office products and EMR (Epic experience is a plus)
• Confidence primarily working as a telephonic advice nurse while stepping in with clinical responsibilities as needed
