JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

Performs routine maintenance and inspection of the production process equipment, the utility support systems, and the production rooms. This may include, but will not be limited to, water treatment systems, boilers and operation, refrigeration systems and components, proper welding practices (Sanitary A-3 standards), to understand and troubleshoot PLC control systems and related components, proper electrical practices. Trouble shooting equipment problems and make necessary repairs as needed.

Support and ensure compliance with all programs, policies, and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Fulfill assigned food safety and regulatory responsibilities in accordance with the SQF Food Safety Code, including promptly reporting any concerns to initiate corrective action. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and EOS.

ITEM TIME JOB FUNCTIONS

1. 75% Completes real-time work orders covering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the process equipment. Completes unscheduled repairs of all areas as needed and fills out proper documentation in real time. Provides support to operators and companion maintenance mechanics. Always seeking continuous self and the improvement of equipment and the work environment. Performs calibration of process equipment instrumentation (level transmitters, pressure transmitters, RTD's, flow meters, etc.),

and duties as needed or assigned by the maintenance supervisor. Acts as a member of Emergency Response Team

2. 15% Performs non-routine maintenance activities, including but not limited to basic preventative maintenance on all process equipment. Completes daily log sheets and shift summary emails to management, inventory usage data entry to computer system in real time. Set-ups, start-ups and changeovers of equipment.

3. 5% Installs electrical for new equipment, submits detailed information required for the purpose of ordering parts and all support materials. Sets up clearances on fillers.

4. 5% Performs other duties as needed or assigned by the supervisor .

Internal Contacts:

Plant manager, production manager, maintenance supervisor, quality assurance manager, and all beverage and tomato personnel, QA/QC

External Contacts:

Vendors, material stock personnel

Education Level and Focus:

Minimum High School Education with some Electrical or Mechanical vocational training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hazwoper Certification. Must be trained in proper Emergency Response Procedures, including Hazwoper, First Aid/CPR, and SCBA use.

Years and Type of Related Experience

Required:

3-4 years of industrial maintenance experience with emphasis on PC based programs, basic principles of computer networking. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics. Trouble shoot high and low voltage control systems, VFD's and hydraulic systems.
