About Our ClientAddison Group is partnering with a rapidly growing client in the logistics and operations space. Due to increased demand and expansion, our client is adding to their dispatch team and is seeking reliable, adaptable professionals who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Job DescriptionThe Dispatcher serves as a key coordination point between drivers, internal operations teams, and external partners. This role is responsible for monitoring schedules, managing real-time changes, and ensuring timely and accurate execution of daily operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working flexible schedules, multitasking under pressure, and communicating clearly in time-sensitive situations.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor schedules, live activity updates, and internal systems to track changes and priorities
- Dispatch drivers and adjust assignments to meet operational demands
- Communicate real-time updates related to delays, schedule changes, or urgent requests
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during their shifts
- Provide clear instructions, timing updates, and location details
- Track delivery progress and escalate issues as needed
- Communicate with external partners regarding orders, changes, and service needs
- Prepare and organize dispatch paperwork, reports, and daily logs
- Verify order details, quantities, and special requirements for accuracy
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational readiness
- Support shift handoffs by communicating outstanding items or priorities
- Follow all safety, security, and compliance guidelines
- Willingness to work any shift, any day
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week as needed
- Prior customer service experience with a high level of professionalism
- Comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Proficient in Excel (skills will be evaluated during the interview process)
- Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail
