Software Engineer, Embedded (Level
4) – Spectacles Team

Join Snap Inc.’s Spectacles team to design and develop embedded software for our next‑generation AR glasses.

• Lead or participate in the design, architecture, and implementation of embedded software in prototypes and shipping consumer products.
• Design and implement software components at all layers of the system (kernel, synchronization primitives, resource allocators, memory management, security, I/O, persistence, camera, audio, etc.).
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews with peers and stakeholders to create reliable solutions.
• Triage product and system issues, debug, and track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues.

• Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.).
• Software development process skills, including source control, bug tracking, and design documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics and component datasheets.
• Strong analytical and software debugging skills.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of embedded software development experience and ARM architecture knowledge.
• Proficiency programming in C or C++.

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with BSP/Board Support Package, Operating Systems, Android/Linux Embedded OS, Graphics, Camera, Audio, Display, or similar areas.
• Ability to write performant, energy‑efficient solutions.
