Position Summary

The Resident Site Monitor provides a safe, supportive, and home‑like environment for program participants. This role focuses on assisting clients with daily living, maintaining cleanliness and order, enforcing program rules, and ensuring the facility meets all health and safety standards. The Site Monitor helps participants adapt to community living while treating all clients with respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Support residents in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment (light cleaning, assisting with chores, setting up and tidying shared spaces).
  • Ensure residents follow program rules, including curfew and community living guidelines.
  • Conduct regular room checks for cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health inspections.
  • Monitor the site, authorizing entry/exit and ensuring only permitted individuals access the facility.
  • Respond to resident needs and crisis situations with professionalism, including conflict resolution, de‑scalation, or contacting emergency services when necessary.
  • Complete regular safety walk‑throughs and maintain accurate daily logs and incident reports.
  • Participate in shift changes by clearly communicating important updates to staff.
  • Provide respectful, culturally competent support to all residents while fostering a sense of dignity and stability.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (some college preferred).
  • Experience working in residential, shelter, or community living environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies or challenging situations.
  • Comfortable assisting with light cleaning, organizing, and maintaining shared spaces.
  • Familiarity with safety/security procedures and enforcing program rules.
  • Computer literacy for logging and reporting.
  • Valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Physical Demands, Environmental Conditions, and Equipment

Walk and climb stairs; stand for extended periods of time; sit upright for extended periods of time; handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment; reach with hands and arms; lift with hands and arms; communicate, receive, and exchange ideas, information by means of the spoken and written word; be mobile by moving oneself from place to place quickly and easily;

repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers; be able to have visual activity for (including, but not limited to) administrative and clerical tasks; drive personal vehicle in and around Los Angeles County and periodically transport clients; be able to enter various buildings that may require climbing stairs. Be subjected to outside environmental conditions.
