How will you make an impact?

• The Automotive / Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic performs maintenance assignments requiring the skills of one or more of the maintenance trades such as auto mechanic, heating and air-conditioning engineer, or other similar skilled journeyman trades.
• Maintains and services equipment within the facility such as aircraft tugs, tow tractors, belt loaders, baggage carts, power units, and company vehicles.
• Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
• Performs troubleshooting and diagnosis to disassemble, clean, check, repair, rework, replace, fabricate, assemble, install, and adjust automotive and ground equipment, machinery, accessories, and parts.
• Tracks inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Maintains repair logs for vehicles and equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Maintains a clean and safe repair shop environment.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
• Valid, unexpired, and unsuspended state driver’s license; some license restrictions may prohibit consideration
• Trade certification as an Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or twelve (12) months of experience in maintenance trades
• Flexible to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating days off
• Ability to distinguish colors: red, green, yellow, white, and blue
• Lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Legal right to work in the United States
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Previous experience maintaining mobile ground power (generators), air conditioners (up to 110 tons), and air start units (experience in farm or heavy industrial equipment is also considered)
• Experience in maintenance trades such as auto mechanic, heating/air conditioning, or similar journeyman trades preferred
• Attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools for repairs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read repair manuals for various vehicles and equipment
• Excellent mechanical repair skills
• Ability to follow instructions
