L.A. Fleet Care is hiring Level 1 experienced technicians (Expert). We look for skilled technicians who value a team environment where their character, attitude, and skills are allowed to shine. Base pay range

$28.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday. 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • Saturdays (By appointment)
Tech Level 1 Requirements (Expert) ($34-50/hr)
  • Extensive experience with computer diagnostics for multiple programs (i.e. Insite, JPro, IDSS, among others)
  • Expert level electrical diagnostic skills including testing and reading wiring diagrams
  • Experience with alternative repairs such as liftgates, hydraulics, trailers, and welding
  • Knowledge of specialty tools (ownership/access a plus)
  • Ability to work autonomously out on the road
  • Able to check repairs of other technicians and coach less experienced techs
  • Familiarity with multiple makes/models (i.e. Peterbilt, Freightliner, Isuzu, Ford, etc…)
  • Class A License (Preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience with advanced tear down/repairs (i.e. cylinder heads, valve adjustments, transmission R&R, front steering and suspension systems.)
  • Ability to meet/beat anticipated repair times
  • Excellent technical and written communication skills
  • Desires to be given the difficult repairs or assist where others struggle
  • Sets the standard for all other technicians in the shop
  • In depth knowledge and familiarity with aftertreatment systems
  • Team oriented mentality and leadership qualities
  • Mobile experience (A plus, but not mandatory, although is required for this position)
Tech Level 2 Requirements (Advanced)
  • Able to confidently complete all PM and Inspection services on multiple makes/models (Including BIT, DOT Annual, oil filters, fuel filters, transmission service, cooling system flush).
  • Comfortable experience with minor repairs such as radiators, water pumps, dosing injectors, drum/disc brakes (includes micing, adjustment, and bleeding), NOx sensors, DPF R&R for baking, etc…)
  • Knowledge of how to diagnose and repair HVAC systems.
  • Some electrical diagnostic experience.
  • Competent computer diagnostic and repair skills (i.e. perform a regeneration, monitor and interpret data, cylinder cutout test, balance test, DEF dosing test etc…)
  • Ability to work with minimal assistance (in shop and on the road) as well as teach basics to level 3 techs.
  • Confidence in work quality in all repairs.
  • Familiarity with basic services on unique equipment (motor homes, forklifts, generators)
  • Some experience or willingness to learn diagnostics/repairs for liftgates, welding, reefer units.
  • Ability to find work from inspections (Always emphasizing accuracy, honesty, and integrity)
  • Good written and verbal technical skills. Can write thorough stories of all repairs.
  • Experience with working on air brake systems (i.e. compressors, dryers, governors, air application tests, etc…).
  • Factory/OEM training (preferred but not mandatory).
  • “Clean Truck Check” certified.
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge. Be an active participant in furthering their technical/mechanical knowledge.
  • Knows how to utilize all tools to perform repairs expected of the position (DMM, Pressure tester, digital mic, etc…).
