Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician provides support and is accountable for delivering on our commitments to residents, including quality move‑ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention. The Technician responds to residents' service needs and is instrumental in delivering superior customer service.
EssentialJob Duties
- Prepare make‑ready apartments (painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping duties) to provide residents with a quality move‑in experience.
- Respond to resident requests in a timely manner and with a professional attitude.
- Apply maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electric, general carpentry skills, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
- Maintain grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep them clean, operational, and safe.
- Participate in on‑call scheduling as needed to respond to after‑hour emergencies.
- Report maintenance concerns on vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Demonstrate knowledge of state, local, and federal fair housing laws.
- Attend training programs as required by Cushman & Wakefield.
- Execute all duties as assigned in a timely manner.
- Deliver superior customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
- Dress in accordance with Cushman & Wakefield uniform and professional appearance standards.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protect company tools and equipment.
- Achieve high productivity through reliable, punctual, on‑site attendance; report any tardiness or attendance issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Valid driver’s license; EPA 608 – Minimum Type II and CPO or local city required certificate.
- Read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and interpret bar graphs.
- Use common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school.
- 1+ years of related experience.
This role operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The Technician will travel between properties in varying weather conditions.
Physical DemandsStand and walk for extended periods; ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools; travel outside between buildings. Stand or sit for at least 85% of the time; operate office machinery. Ability to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally or frequently as required.
Benefits and CompensationCompensation range: $20.83 – $24.50 per hour.
