As a Security Officer - Armed Rail Station Patrol in Los Angeles, CA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a highly visible presence that helps to deter incidents, and respond to situations with calm, professional communication. You will support access control, document security-related activity, and deliver customer service aligned with our agile, reliable, and innovative culture, built on teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Schedule- Mon – 05:30 AM to 02:00 PM
- Fri – 05:30 AM to 02:00 PM

This list mirrors the original responsibilities below; please see the original for full wording. - Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, suspicious activity, and property-related concerns.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout government facilities, surrounding grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification, directing visitors, and monitoring authorized entry and/or exit per post orders.
- Perform security-related screening as directed by site policy, including visual inspections and use of approved equipment.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, intercoms, and radio traffic; communicate observed issues to the appropriate personnel and dispatch support as needed.
- Write clear, detailed reports of daily activities and incident responses, including accurate times, locations, and actions taken.
- Maintain required equipment and appearance standards for an armed post, including proper carry, weapon retention awareness, and adherence to use-of-force and escalation protocols.
- Support de-escalation efforts during confrontations and request assistance from supervisors and/or public law enforcement when required by conditions.
- Assist with crowd and vehicle flow during special events, service disruptions, and other high-traffic periods, following established routing and posting plans.
- Conduct checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or tampering, and report hazards and maintenance concerns through the proper channels.
- Participate in drills, briefings, and training activities related to emergency procedures, communications, and post-specific requirements.
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Baton permit is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
