What will you be doing in this role?

• The Command Center Operator is responsible for Security Department Command Center operations, including answering incoming telephone calls, dispatching officers, documenting service calls, monitoring alarm systems and CCTV, maintaining CCTV recording devices, and dispatching medical center wide emergency broadcasts.
• Answer telephones, gather information, and dispatch officers in a polite, professional manner.
• Monitor digital alarms (fire, infant, panic, and access control systems); analyze activations and dispatch appropriate personnel.
• Utilize the overhead paging system to announce medical codes and pages to medical staff and physicians within the medical center; receive emergency medical calls and dispatch staff to emergency codes.
• Operate CCTV systems and troubleshoot technical problems; maintain recording devices and review contents for investigations.
• Monitor security radio communications and alert appropriate personnel in emergencies or unusual circumstances; in emergencies, notify key management, senior staff and appropriate law enforcement agencies.
• Maintain daily dispatch logs of all Security Department calls and daily logs for contractors in the medical center that may trigger alarms.
• Monitor activity on the loading dock after hours to manage access for approved vendors.
• Alert the shift Watch Commander to unusual or suspicious activity and pass on pertinent information to relieving staff.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma/GED - Required
• Experience:
  
  Minimum one (1) year prior security experience preferred; excellent customer service and communication skills; computer proficiency required
• License/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Security Officer Guard Card/California Guard Card - Required;
  Valid California Driver License - Required
