As an Armed Security Officer, you are part of a highly trained security team supporting critical facilities, public venues, and personal protective services. You will be trained by firearms instructors in safe weapons handling and marksmanship.

- U.S. Citizen
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum three (3) years experience as a Law Enforcement Officer with arrest authority or as a Corrections, Detention, or Military Police Officer handling prisoners
- English language proficiency
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Trained and qualified in the use of client approved firearm(s)
- Medical fitness for full range of duties; must pass medical evaluation fit-for-duty
- No physical condition restricting strenuous exertion or preventing satisfactory performance
- No emotional or mental condition adversely affecting performance
- Current Hepatitis immunization and annual TB skin test
- Honorable or general discharge if veteran
- Receive prisoners administratively cleared for receipt via manifest, prisoner schedule, or verbal instruction
- Conduct initial questioning to assess mental and physical wellbeing prior to taking custody
- Verify prisoner identities by name, photograph, jail or client number, armband, or nametag
- Search prisoners for contraband prior to taking custody from entities other than the client
- Provide prisoner security during transportation and guarding assignments
- Apply and remove restraints
- Escort prisoners to and from cells, court, debriefing, interview, and processing rooms
- Monitor prisoner activity in person and via CCTV
- Search and disseminate prisoner meals
- Log all activities occurring during the shift relative to a specific prisoner and assignment
- Conduct and log security sweeps of transportation vehicles, hospital and treatment rooms, cells, and cellblock areas before and after each use
- Log prisoner trips to and from detention facilities, medical appointments, JPATS sites, and court; identify each CDO and prisoner, location, date and time
- Log time by assignment for transportation to and from court or detention facilities, JPATS transportation, medical transportation, guarding, cellblock support, and courthouse support
