Role

Summary

The Global Production & Special Event Security Manager is responsible for planning and executing security operations that protect cast, crew, audiences, facilities, and intellectual property across Paramount’s global productions—including film, scripted and unscripted series, and live audience formats—and special events such as premieres, screenings, festivals, fan activations, press junkets, and award-season events.

Key Responsibilities Production & Special Event Support
  • Develop and execute security plans for all phases of production (film, scripted and unscripted series, live audience formats) and special events, including premieres, award shows, concerts, festivals, and fan events.
  • Conduct risk assessments for filming locations and event venues.
  • Implement access control, credentialing, perimeter protection, secure transport and parking, equipment protection, and cast and crew security safeguards.
  • Coordinate with studio executives and production and event leaders to enforce studio security policy.
  • Oversee crowd management, screening protocols, and VIP and talent protection.
Investigations & Compliance
  • Partner with the Global Security Operations Center to support intelligence gathering and threat monitoring.
  • Ensure adherence to studio security standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Support investigations into theft, leaks, harassment, and workplace violence in partnership with Legal and Human Resources.
  • Liaise with law enforcement, fire, and emergency services.
  • Integrate with Health & Safety teams to support emergency action plans (EAP), EMS and medical coverage, fire and life safety requirements, and severe weather protocols.
Vendor & Budget Oversight
  • Source and manage security guard services and talent protection vendors.
  • Manage daily on-set and event security operations in coordination with contracted security vendors.
  • Prepare, manage, and track security budgets for productions and special events.
Training & Policy Enforcement
  • Educate production and event teams on security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct security briefings and tabletop exercises for high-risk projects.
  • Define and report key metrics to senior leadership; conduct after-action reviews, capture lessons learned, and update playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications Required
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in production and/or live event security (studio, network, streaming, or major vendor), including international locations.
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex production and event security operations, including film set security, crowd management, VIP and talent movements, and red carpet builds.
  • Strong incident management and communication skills under time pressure; calm, decisive, and collaborative.
  • Proficiency with VMS/CCTV, access control and credentialing systems, radio communications, incident management tools, and GSOC and intelligence workflows.
  • Familiarity with unionized and permitted production environments, including IATSE, DGA, SAG-AFTRA, and Teamsters, as well as filming ordinances and law enforcement, fire, and EMS liaison.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and to travel frequently both domestically and internationally.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications, including CPP, PSP, PMP (or equivalent), FEMA ICS 100/200/700/800, TEEX or NIMS crowd management, and CERT, CPR/First Aid, or Stop the Bleed.
