Members of the On-Call Mobile Response Unit are trained and credentialed Security Officers whose primary responsibilities are to provide on-demand services when dispatched by a central dispatching station to security-related incidents or alarms at client sites. This position is an on-call “gig” position in which members make themselves actively available to the dispatch center during the course of their workday. When a response is needed from the On-Call Mobile Response Unit, the dispatch center puts out a call for available Officers to respond based on location and availability.
The responding Officer(s) drive their personal vehicle to the response location, following the response protocols as directed by the central dispatch station. Officers are paid for each response they complete and bonuses are paid for reaching availability targets.
This position requires a high level of professionalism, precise scene assessment, collaborative communications, and the ability to adapt effectively to various challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Rapid Incident Response and Scene Assessment- Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies following a dispatch request.
- Conduct immediate and thorough scene assessment upon arrival to accurately determine the nature, scope, and required response for security breaches, disturbances, or emergencies.
- Respond to and de-escalate conflicts and disturbances.
- Assist in critical emergency situations, such as fire, medical emergencies, and active threats.
- Utilize observational skills to investigate and report suspicious activities encountered during response actions.
- Cooperate with law enforcement agencies as needed following an incident.
- Prepare clear and concise incident reports detailing all observations, actions taken, and outcomes.
- Ensure strong attention to detail when documenting incidents to provide accurate and legally sound records.
- Maintain accurate records of emergency response times and actions taken during dispatch calls.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and employees during emergency situations.
- Always maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Possess and maintain a valid California Guard Card.
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to remain calm and collected under pressure during high-stress dispatch situations.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills are essential for effective scene assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch operators and on-site personnel.
