Head of Sales-Beauty - BOTH Sell In and Sell Through-LA
Our client is a growing prestige beauty brand in LA. They are looking for a strong Head of Sales & Education who currently lives in LA and must have current sell‑in experience with Sephora.
Base pay range: $/yr – $/yr
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Head of Sales will lead and direct the execution of all wholesale functions for the US and Canada and identify new global whitespace opportunities. This role will partner with retailers to develop, plan and execute new and innovative strategies while leading continued strong sales growth.
Key areas include:
- Oversee Agency Field Sales teams, Regional Field Sales teams and the network of Beauty Advisors, Retail Excellence and Education teams.
- Ensure seamless execution of retail and clienteling strategies across all locations.
- Lead the Education program and visual merchandising initiatives.
- Act as a cross‑functional partner across every department within the organization.
- Attract, develop, and retain high performing and diverse talent; lead by example and enable them to realize their full potential.
- Responsible for overall brand account strategies and performance to support growth and brand awareness; set vision and strategy for Account Leads and Sales Planning while partnering with Marketing, Creative, Product Development, Operations & Finance.
- Provide expertise in the New Product Development cycle to identify key product attributes that drive pricing and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with Marketing to execute campaign roll‑out, trade marketing plans, masterclasses, services, and events.
- Strong understanding of Sephora & retailer programming dynamics and local market nuances.
- Negotiate and align business plans and activities with retail partners and global brand vision.
- Drive in‑store productivity and achieve year‑over‑year step‑function improvements.
- Balance multiple relationships and workload across retailers while identifying whitespace retail opportunities.
- Integrate B&M accounts and into a consistent omnichannel customer experience.
- Partner with Marketing to generate a focused company view on marketing and co‑op calendars.
- Ensure teams deliver a best‑in‑class luxury client experience across all points of sale.
- Manage sales operations and logistics for FBB network, including inventory, loss prevention, security, and compliance.
- Define targets by retailer and door and provide Field teams with reporting tools to drive performance; define metrics and KPIs by door.
- Partner with Marketing to identify needs and equip field teams with right tools and communication flows.
- Leverage client analytics to inform teams about client KPIs and improve top line with right mix.
- Develop and implement education strategies to enhance team skills, product knowledge, and operational expertise.
- Oversee creation and facilitation of training programs, including online Beauty Advisor training, internal education app content, and in‑person programs.
- Foster leadership and development of specialist communities (Makeup Artists, Fragrance Specialists, Skincare Specialists).
- Direct deployment of axis expertise to ensure consistent knowledge and execution across locations and support major campaigns and product launches with Marketing.
- Own overall P&L for accounts, including retail sales budget, co‑op, freelance, promo, sampling, sets and CAPEX.
- Leverage internal sales trends, market and consumer trends through NPD/Circana data to develop accurate estimates for future product launches and sales trends.
- 8+ years of sales leadership experience; minimum 6 years in the beauty/cosmetics wholesale industry; must be current.
- Must live in LA.
- 5+ years of direct P&L ownership across multiple retailers/channels in a high‑growth environment.
- Direct exposure and strong relationships with Sephora, Amazon and other key domestic and global beauty retailers.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, proactively and with discretion.
- Highly collaborative and passionate team player with a positive, professional attitude.
- Entrepreneurial and Go‑Getter approach, goal‑oriented, proactive drive.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
- Proficiency in Net Suite, Canva, Excel.
- Ability to travel 25‑35% as needed.
