Clinical Field Specialist

Territory:
East Los Angeles

A leading medical technology company is seeking a Clinical Field Specialist to support one of its top-performing sales territories nationwide
. This role partners closely with a high-achieving Territory Sales Representative to drive post-sale adoption, education, and clinical excellence across major hospital systems in East Los Angeles.

This is an ideal opportunity for a clinically strong professional—such as an ICU nurse or experienced clinical specialist—who wants to stay close to patient care while stepping into a more commercial, field-based role.

Territory & Location
  • East Los Angeles (generally east of the LA River)
  • Key hospitals include major academic and health system accounts in the area
  • Candidates should live within ~30 minutes of central LA hospitals and be comfortable driving into the city
  • Territory is nearly 100% drivable with minimal overnight travel
The Role

Reporting directly to the Regional Clinical Leader, this role works hand-in-hand with the local Territory Sales Representative to support customers after the sale. The focus is on driving adoption
, improving clinical outcomes
, and ensuring clinical teams are confident and trained on products and therapies already in place.

You’ll spend the majority of your time in hospitals working with nurses, physicians, and other clinical stakeholders—providing case coverage, in-servicing, education, and ongoing support. When not in the field, you’ll manage administrative responsibilities remotely.

What You’ll Do
  • Support product adoption following sales by providing hands-on clinical education and training
  • Partner closely with the Territory Sales Representative to support account strategies
  • Provide case coverage and real-time clinical support in procedural and acute care settings
  • Educate and train nursing and clinical teams on devices, therapies, and best practices
  • Act as a strong clinical advocate, confidently engaging with and challenging physicians when appropriate to improve patient outcomes
  • Build trusted relationships with end users and key stakeholders
  • Maintain documentation, expense reporting, and follow-up communication during designated “office” time
Schedule & Travel
  • Typical hours:
    Monday–Friday, early mornings (approx. 6:30am–3:30/4:00pm)
  • Some days may end earlier depending on case load
  • Occasional evening/night coverage (2–3 times per year) to support night shift teams)
  • Weekend work is extremely rare, usually for a small number of conferences per year
  • Quarterly meetings may require limited overnight travel
Who We’re Looking For
  • Strong clinical background with a desire to move into a field-based, commercially aligned role
  • ICU, ER, Neuro, Cardio, Trauma, or similar acute care experience highly preferred
  • Clinical specialists with hands-on device or therapy training experience encouraged to apply
  • Confident communicator with sales instincts
    —able to influence, persuade, and respectfully push back when needed
  • Comfortable advocating for better treatment options and navigating physician conversations
  • Not a fit for someone who prefers a passive or purely observational role
Qualifications
  • RN or equivalent clinical background strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in an acute care setting ideal
  • Experience providing clinical education, training, or case support
  • Ability to travel extensively within the local territory
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Compensation & Benefits
  • On-target earnings: $140,000–$150,000 (base + variable comp at plan)
  • Top performers earning $200,000+
