We are seeking a Catering Sales Manager who is equal parts relationship-builder, strategic seller, and detail-driven executor. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves selling memorable experiences, and wants to be part of a team actively evolving events execution from good to exceptional.
Your Impact As Catering Sales Manager, you will play a critical role in growing The Odyssey's private events business - selling weddings, corporate functions, social celebrations, and high-touch experiences that reflect the venue's elevated brand. You will manage the full sales cycle, from inquiry through execution handoff, while building long-term client relationships and consistently exceeding revenue goals.
What You'll DoSales & Revenue Performance- Meet and exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue targets
- Sell across multiple market segments in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Proactively generate new business while nurturing repeat and referral clients
- Conduct site tours and client presentations that showcase the venue's views, spaces, and culinary offerings
- Maintain strong knowledge of market trends and competitive venues
- Build trusted, long-term relationships that drive repeat business
- Serve as a knowledgeable, confident guide throughout the planning process
- Design creative, customized events that reflect client vision and venue capability
- Represent The Odyssey at industry events, trade shows, and community engagements
- Collaborate closely with the banquet and operations teams to ensure flawless execution
- Prepare detailed and accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Ensure clear communication across departments so teams are set up for success
- Support event execution standards that feel polished, coordinated, and elevated
- 3+ years of catering or event sales experience, preferably in an upscale, high-volume restaurant or venue
- Proven success managing client relationships and closing events
- Strong understanding of venue capabilities, pricing strategy, and competitive positioning
- Experience leveraging audio-visual offerings as a revenue generator
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales tools (Delphi, Salesforce, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Advanced knowledge of event planning and hospitality sales
- Experience working with high-end or discerning clientele
