Role Overview

The Regional Sales Director (RSD) has responsibility to grow sales of PENTAX products to both new and existing customers through the sales efforts of a sales team assigned to a specific geographic territory. Manage sales representatives to achieve budgeted sales, quotas and expense objectives within defined geographical regions to plan, organize, and implement sales programs for the region. Also train, develop, and mentor team members within the region.

Analyze the sales results to determine sales strategy and inventory requirements, and oversee handling or may handle key accounts. This role will oversee all sales activity west of the Mississippi River.

Responsibilities of Regional Sales Director - Western US
  • Take a leadership role in managing high impact deals to closure
  • Manage and coach a team of Territory Managers through ride alongs, pipeline reviews and providing regular constructive feedback
  • Hold Territory Managers accountable for their sales activities, including CRM updates and developing relationships with accounts
  • Support and develop sales team members, ie: order, conversion, expansion, re-order
  • Participate in demonstrations, product presentations, customer meetings, and/or regional clinical meetings, develop quarterly, monthly, and weekly developmental targets for Sales Representatives
  • Track activities and submit reports on sales activities accurately and on-time within CRM systems
  • Manage forecast and probability within CRM system
  • Develop selling opportunities in high impact accounts and engage, VP, Sales, Clinical Support Manager, Product Manager, and executive leadership in said opportunities
  • Meet product category sales developed as targets spread across product portfolio
  • Drive activities to increase service sales
  • Monitor utilization of performance contracts
  • Committed to the demonstration process and understands how to move customers through the selling process. Identifies pain points, and stall points in all selling situations
  • Maintain team and keep region staffed with open territories filled within allotted timeframe
  • Advanced role during national trade shows; DDW, ACG, Regional trade shows and large society meetings
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of Medical Device sales, preferably in GI Sales
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales management
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry and familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Effective and clear communication skills
  • Proven success in managing a sales territory and selling to all levels of an organization
  • Ability to forecast
  • Ability to travel within territory on a regular basis which will include frequent overnight and weekend travel
  • Comfortable with the demonstration process and understands how to move customers through the selling process and overcome obstacles
  • Understanding of the components of PENTAX equipment as well as competitive equipment
  • Ability to interact and influence physicians and train and coach territory managers
  • Advanced knowledge of disease, anatomy, and an overall understanding of the market
  • Credibility with key opinion leaders
