OverviewThe Industry Specialized Program for Select Commercial Insurance Sales Producer focuses on outside sales driving new business sales revenue growth of commercial business clients ($10mm and under in sales). In addition to cross‑selling referrals from other internal business units, this role is expected to achieve additional wins through an assigned book of qualified prospects within an industry specialization:
Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, or Industrial. The Program develops insurance industry knowledge, obtains insurance licensing, and focuses on outside sales opportunities leveraging current industry knowledge.
- Achieve new business sales goals annually based on target market of companies with sales under $10mm.
- Create positive synergy and pursue cross‑selling opportunities with other practices to meet revenue growth targets.
- Generate sufficient new business leads and appointment activity volume.
- Identify and overcome sales obstacles on a prospect‑specific basis.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the discovery process and promoting USI’s competitive differentiation, including mastering presentation templates and supporting OMNI output.
- Communicate solutions effectively to non‑insurance buyers.
- Develop relationships and achieve new business goals within a specific industry specialization.
- Use CRM to support sales processes, input accurate data for appointments, follow‑ups, meetings, and facilitate realistic corporate sales and revenue projections.
- Attend and actively participate in USI Industry Specialized Program, USI University and USI Select ONE Academy.
- Obtain proper insurance licensing through the Program and independent study.
- Develop and deploy sales and marketing strategies and communications to optimize USI’s market position.
- Represent USI positively in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events.
- Work collaboratively with the account management team and national/regional resources to maximize results.
- 3–5 years of business‑to‑business sales experience, calling on senior executives and a track record of financial success.
- Current sales success within Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, or Industrial.
- Personable, highly motivated, goal‑oriented, organized, and driven to achieve sales goals.
- Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organization, follow‑up, and listening skills with a strong customer focus.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Commitment to mutual objectives of the Select Commercial Insurance Practice and Regional Office.
- Ability to work with senior‑level management and project executive presence.
- College degree preferred.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 per year. (
Note:
alternate posted ranges for similar roles range $110,000 – $125,000.)
