EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to concerns courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about special promotions and trade‑in programs, recommend additional items, apply all selling behaviors, and express gratitude to every guest.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process purchases and returns accurately via the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering calls promptly and professionally.
- Promote Game Stop’s unique guest benefits, including the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Ensure all areas of the store—restrooms included—are clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines; maintain fixtures and equipment in proper working order.
- Complete Omni‑Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and bank deposits as required.
- Conduct store inventory counts and restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures; move products from stock room to the front of the store to ensure proper display.
- Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals accurately in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposit slips correctly.
- Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages, record them in the POS system, and report to management as needed.
- Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls accurately and promptly with proper labeling.
- Visually inspect associates’ and leaders’ packages and/or belongings at store closing or end of shift.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in absence of management.
- Consistently adhere to Game Stop policies, procedures, and the Associate Handbook.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and observe associate performance to provide timely feedback.
- Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of retail sales, guest service, or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store for up to 10 hours per day.

- Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Self‑motivation and teamwork to complete tasks timely.
- Problem‑solving skills and judgment.
- Follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deliver bank deposits following loss‑prevention safety guidelines.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; minimum of three days per week.
- Remain effective under pressure and handle stress constructively.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs to a minimum height of 4 feet.
- Stand and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

Pay$18.37 – $21.12 per hour
