Overview

The Elder Statesman is a heritage lifestyle brand with an emphasis on cashmere and luxury goods. Founded in 2007 and based in Los Angeles, California, TES is beginning an exciting new chapter with a new leadership team and brand look and feel. Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the VP of Finance, this hire will round out the Accounting and Finance functions and be an important member of the team within a fast-growing business.

Role

The Sales Supervisor is a highly autonomous role responsible for independently running the store during solo coverage while delivering an elevated, highly personal client experience. In Aspen, this position operates with significant ownership, managing sales, clienteling, daily operations, and brand standards, while acting as a trusted extension of store leadership.

Key Responsibilities Store Ownership & Execution
  • Independently open, operate, and close the store during solo shifts, following all cash control, security, and operational procedures.
  • Own the full client journey, from initial engagement through follow-up, special orders, shipping, and long-term relationship building.
  • Exercise strong judgment to resolve client or operational issues while protecting the brand and business.
  • Drive individual sales performance through high-touch, relationship-based selling.
  • Build and maintain a strong personal client book with consistent outreach and follow-up.
  • Confidently communicate The Elder Statesman’s story—craftsmanship, materials, and heritage—to create meaningful client connections.
  • Manage all details of the sale, ensuring a seamless and elevated experience.
Operations & Brand Standards
  • Execute all POS and register functions accurately.
  • Manage receiving, stock organization, replenishment, and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized sales floor and back-of-house at all times.
  • Ensure the store consistently reflects The Elder Statesman’s visual and brand standards.
  • Identify and communicate product, inventory, or maintenance issues promptly.
Leadership & Partnership
  • Act as a trusted partner to the Store leadership, providing clear updates on sales performance, client activity, and store needs.
  • Set the tone on the floor through professionalism, accountability, and example.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in luxury retail or hospitality, ideally in a role requiring significant autonomy.
  • Proven sales and clienteling track record.
  • Strong operational competence, including cash handling and inventory management.
  • Highly self-directed, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak Aspen seasons.
