Dairy Clerk

Overview

The Dairy Clerk is responsible for keeping all store dairy and frozen cases stocked and clean during business hours. They are required to assist customers as needed while maintaining a friendly, energetic demeanor. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Dairy department.

• Ensure cleanliness of dairy cases, storage area, and work area for safety, including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of liquid spills, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping as needed.
• Stock dairy cases with correct presentation, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as directed by the Dairy Department schematics, and ensure tag and pricing accuracy.
• Inspect and rotate dairy products, monitor for expired stock, and discard outdated or spoiled items.
• Assist customers with purchases, information, and product selection; sell and cross-sell products when appropriate.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
• Monitor point-of-purchase signs and ensure availability of recipe cards, product coupons, promotional material, and information on complimentary foods.
• Operate and use equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required.
• Weigh and label products accurately using knowledge of scales and weight measures.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
• Walk the department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and clean appearance at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrate mutual respect for others and uphold a high level of ethics within Sprouts culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Capable of performing repetitious tasks, multitasking, prioritizing, and staying organized.
• Be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting 40-60 lbs. and moving boxes/crates for distances up to 10 feet, with or without mechanical assistance, for durations as required.
• Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8-hour shift; may require use of a 2-step stool to access shelves.
• Be able to walk up to 3 miles per 8-hour shift.
• Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Be willing to perform other related duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $18.15 - $23.60 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
