Grocery Clerk

• Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
• Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions, making suggestions about products.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making them feel valued.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Support and assist customers with special needs, including minors and older adults.
