Thuma is looking for a Lead Barista to join our new West Hollywood team and help lead our new store opening. Reporting to the Store Manager, this position will play a pivotal role in the seamless functioning and overall success of our West Hollywood Store.

Base pay range

$21.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Be an extension of the Thuma retail team and create an environment where people like to spend time
  • Manage cafe inventory and ordering in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • Ensure compliance of local health regulations are closely followed
  • Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Lead and mentor baristas, providing guidance and training
  • Ensure exceptional coffee quality through proper brewing techniques and recipe adherence
  • Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues promptly
  • Collaborate with management to optimize cafe efficiency and performance
  • Uphold Thuma's commitment to ethical business practices, sustainability and 6-star customer service
  • Ensure communication between cafe and retail teams to ensure coverage and timely customer assistance
  • Develop and implement new coffee offerings and seasonal promotions
What You’ll Need
  • Based in Los Angeles.
  • People person with strong interaction skills.
  • Previous experience as a Lead Barista or similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso preparation, and latte art.
  • Possess a Los Angeles Food Safety Manager card or be willing to obtain one.
  • Proven leadership skills with motivation and inspiration for a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑centric approach.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Anticipated start date:
March 2026, subject to adjustment.
