Thuma is looking for a Lead Barista to join our new West Hollywood team and help lead our new store opening. Reporting to the Store Manager, this position will play a pivotal role in the seamless functioning and overall success of our West Hollywood Store.
Base pay range$21.00/hr - $25.00/hr
Key Responsibilities- Be an extension of the Thuma retail team and create an environment where people like to spend time
- Manage cafe inventory and ordering in collaboration with the Store Manager
- Ensure compliance of local health regulations are closely followed
- Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and mentor baristas, providing guidance and training
- Ensure exceptional coffee quality through proper brewing techniques and recipe adherence
- Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues promptly
- Collaborate with management to optimize cafe efficiency and performance
- Uphold Thuma's commitment to ethical business practices, sustainability and 6-star customer service
- Ensure communication between cafe and retail teams to ensure coverage and timely customer assistance
- Develop and implement new coffee offerings and seasonal promotions
- Based in Los Angeles.
- People person with strong interaction skills.
- Previous experience as a Lead Barista or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso preparation, and latte art.
- Possess a Los Angeles Food Safety Manager card or be willing to obtain one.
- Proven leadership skills with motivation and inspiration for a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a customer‑centric approach.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Anticipated start date:
March 2026, subject to adjustment.
