Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer who will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of electro-mechanical products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of product functionality, design intent, and technical specifications. This position requires a proactive approach to quality assurance and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Review, assess, and approve program compliance matrices to ensure alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in key program milestone reviews, including readiness evaluations such as MRR and TRR.
  • Identify, define, and implement appropriate inspection, testing, and evaluation methods tailored to program and product requirements.
  • Perform statistical and defect analyses to determine cost impacts and identify responsibility for materials or products that fail to meet specifications.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using quality tools and systems, including NCR, MRB processes, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), 5-Why, 8D, and related methodologies.
  • Stay current with evolving quality standards, industry specifications, and best practices to continuously strengthen organizational quality performance.
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits, prepare reports, and follow through on findings and corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively to address, resolve, and prevent quality-related issues across teams and stakeholders.
  • Carry out additional duties or tasks as assigned by leadership to support overall quality and operational objectives.
Essential Skills
  • First article inspection and report creation.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and related quality system expectations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum 1 year of quality experience in electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience with AS9102 FAI format and requirements.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Understanding of AS9100/ISO Requirements.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of basic electronic principles, PCB manufacturing, and environmental testing.
  • Certification and/or knowledge in IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-2220 family, IPC-6012/6013, and IPC-A-600.
  • Certification in IPC-A-610 – Acceptability of electronic assembly.
  • CQE/CRE certification.
Work Environment

The role is heavily focused on ensuring compliance with strict aerospace quality standards, including reviewing compliance matrices, conducting audits, supporting FAI requirements, and maintaining adherence to internal quality processes. The work environment fosters a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, utilizing advanced quality tools and systems to achieve operational excellence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chatsworth, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $48.08/hr.
