Veterinary Doctor's Assistant​/DA ECC​/ICU

VCA Animal Specialty & Emergency Center is a high volume, AAHA accredited, referral and critical care hospital located in West Los Angeles. ASEC is proud to be one of LA's leading 24-hour specialty animal care centers for over 30 years now. As a teaching hospital with six specialties and over 200 staff members on our team, we host externs, interns, and specialty residents every year.

We are currently seeking experienced ECC Doctor’s Assistants to join our team.

• Obtain initial patient histories from the client
• Transcribe physical exam findings, lab results, imaging reports, etc. into medical records
• Create financial estimates
• Client communication and education
• Perform client/patient follow-up phone calls
• Create and process prescription refills
• Maintain medical records
• Review discharge instructions with clients
• Complete lab submission forms

Compensation
: $25 - 36 / hr

Compensation for this position is dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule and additional responsibilities.

ECC Veterinary Doctor’s Assistant:
Doctor's assistants have the opportunity to be a part of providing critical care services and excellent customer service while working alongside our veterinarians, technicians, and front desk team. We are seeking highly organized individuals with strong multi-tasking and customer service skills. Current experience (within the last 2 years) in veterinary medicine is highly recommended, and experience in emergency or specialty medicine is a huge plus!

• Full-time employees work “4 x 10s”, part-time employees work 8-hour shifts
• Overnight hours are paid an additional differential.
• All schedules include working one weekend day (either Sat or Sun)
