Horizon Veterinary Specialists, founded in August 2018 by five board-certified veterinarians, aims to drive positive influence in the veterinary community. Our 24/7 emergency and critical care team serves small animal patients across Ventura and surrounding counties, accepting walk-ins and referrals. We have a large, fully equipped, multi-unit ICU that includes an isolation ward and quiet rooms. Our emergency department team collaborates with the Internal Medicine department six days a week for consultation and supportive services. We are a growing practice always looking for skilled, caring, and compassionate people to join our team in a collaborative, yet driven environment that provides opportunities for growth, development, and patient/client service.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area, greet and welcome clients and patients, answer questions and triage client concerns, answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution, schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow, check in and check out clients and process payments.
- Provide friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to clients and be comfortable with various medical outcomes.
- Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

QualificationsWe’re Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience preferred or 3+ years customer service experience in other fields.
- Compassionate, calm team player with a positive attitude.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities and strong communication skills.
- Highly organized with excellent computer proficiency.
- Self-motivated, with a desire to continuously learn and grow in your role.
- Ability to handle emotionally charged situations with professionalism and resilience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in difficult or emotional circumstances.
- Comfortable working in a veterinary environment—must not be squeamish.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and manage multiple priorities effectively.
