Registered Veterinary Technician with 1-2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting.

• Currently registered with the California Veterinary Medical Board
• Effective communication skills
• knowledge of vaccination protocols, pharmacology, nutrition and animal husbandry and care
• Must be able to assist in surgery, collect samples
• take dental digital xrays, and radio graphs for the body
• able to assist veterinarian in restraint of animal, care of animal including surgical prep and dental prophylaxis
• Technician must be able to educate clients of the care and condition of their pet

Knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment needed, and operation of the equipment

• calm when under pressure
• Pleasant, courteous, and polite to clients and co workers.
• excellent customer service, able to explain medical conditions and terms to clients.

• working with veterinarian on care of animals
• monitoring surgical patients and recovering patients
• Surgical logs, and controlled logs
• inventory and supplies stocked
• work with veterinarians and rest of staff in the flow of the hospital
• helping the veterinarian with call backs to clients and estimates
• performing dental prophylaxis
• surgical prep
• maintaining the equipment used in surgery and diagnostics
