Overview

Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinarian interested in Leadership (Medical Director) to lead our dedicated team of 6 DVMs in providing high-quality care for our small animal patients. As Medical Director, you will oversee medical quality and operations while collaborating with a team of supportive doctors in a team-oriented, Fear Free Certified environment.

At Mohawk Alley, we pride ourselves on being a teaching hospital that emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, and ongoing learning. We mentor new grads with personalized mentorship plans, ensuring each veterinarian has the opportunity to excel in areas such as surgery, dentistry, radiology interpretation, and clinical consultation.

With a 3:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, our practice provides a full range of general practice services for dogs and cats, including radiology, ultrasound, and surgery. We are equipped with mobile ultrasound, digital X-ray machines for both full-body and dental radiographs, IDEXX in-house diagnostic machines, and Imagyst, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

• Provide leadership and medical direction to the veterinary team, ensuring the highest standards of care.
• Oversee medical standards, diagnostics, surgical and dental services; maintain a Fear Free environment and a culture of safety and wellness for patients and staff.
• Develop, mentor, and support veterinarians through structured mentorship programs.
• Collaborate with management to achieve clinical and operational goals aligned with the practice’s long-term vision.

• Licensed veterinarian eligible to practice in the applicable state (and any required credentials).
• Experience in leadership/medical director roles or equivalent; strong leadership and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to Fear Free practice, team-based care, and mentorship.
• Ability to manage operations and clinical goals with a focus on high-quality patient care.

• Competitive salary: $140,000 – $180,000 (negotiable based on experience)
