• Registered Nurse IV is an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge and experience in a specialty, as well as general nursing.
• Consistently demonstrates excellence in all areas of nursing practice.
• Manages complex, unpredictable patient care situations and serves as a nursing leader.
• Assumes primary responsibility for the mentoring and coaching employees in one of the three professional advancement pathways (Clinical Quality, Education, Leadership) that most closely aligns with their skills.
• Serves as a mentor on the unit with the goal of growing nurse engagement, professional development of staff, and safe quality care with improved outcomes.
• Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements in patient assignment, delegation of tasks, documentation and supervision of care for the delivery team.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for the supervision and application of the nursing process throughout patient care delivery.

Education Requirements: BSN or higher from an accredited school of nursing.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Current, unrestricted California RN License.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS or ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Specialty Certification.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years acute care RN experience in the PACU.
• Internal applicants must have maintained satisfactory Clinical Nurse III status for at least one (1) year.
