Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The UCLA Medicine-Pediatrics section is looking to hire a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) for patient care in our multidisciplinary clinics. This position is part-time at 70% (28 hours/week), with a minimum of 3 full days of clinic and one ½ day of administrative work per week.
Candidate must be a certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and have completed a training program accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Candidate must also have at least 2 years of direct patient care experience with children/adolescents with diagnoses such as autism, ADD/ADHD, anxiety/depression, bipolar disorder, and additional psychiatric conditions.
The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, and work with physicians and behavioral health specialists to ensure safe continuity of care. The provider must be on call during working hours to respond to patient requests and will be provided with a UCLA cell phone for this purpose. The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, and makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered.
Salary range: $93.81- $133.97/hourly

* BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
* Graduation from accredited School of Nursing with MSN/DNP with a PMHNP Specialty - required.
* Current, valid CA Nurse Practitioner License and CA RN License-required
* State of California NP, National Board Certification

* NPI#, DEA#, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment on CURES- required
* 2 years relevant clinical NP experience-required
* Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-required
* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required
* Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required
* Ability to set priorities-required
* Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-required
* Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required
