Full Time (72-80 Hours Per Pay Period) - Category:
Nursing - Salary Range (DOE): $52.08 to $69.24 per hour
- Provide comprehensive patient care and education to patients and families in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
- Maintain professional communication with colleagues, physicians, and healthcare team members, using the SBAR communication format.
- Adhere to HIPAA and VPH policies, maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Cross-train to various areas within the hospital according to policy.
- Utilize information technology to document care processes efficiently.
- Collaborate with physicians and mentors to evaluate and modify care plans based on patient needs.
- Follow Universal Precautions and VPH infection control standards.
- Administer medications per hospital policy, reporting any errors promptly.
- Collect and interpret patient data, formulate nursing diagnoses, and assess patient conditions.
- Advocate for patient and family values, beliefs, and standards.
- Provide ongoing discharge education and plan effective discharges from admission.
- Ensure a caring and compassionate approach, keeping patients and families informed.
- Support hospital throughput initiatives for timely patient transfers and discharges.
- Participate in unit or hospital quality initiatives and projects.
- Exhibit professionalism in appearance, conduct, and communication.
- Must fulfill essential job functions.
- Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of recent nursing experience for the department hiring the RN. - Education:
ADN required; BSN preferred. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Current CA RN license; BLS; LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire. - CPR/Non-violent Crisis Intervention within 30 days of hire.
- PICU Requirements: NRP, PALS
