The Nurse Manager holds 24‑hour accountability for the quality of patient care, efficiency of operations, and human resources management for the department. Patient care and services are administered in collaboration with hospital administration, the medical staff and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agency requirements.

Manages daily nursing operations of the department, creates and promotes a positive, progressive, and healthy work environment through positive coaching, mentoring, and team building. Maintains a stable and productive staff; involves staff at all levels in Shared Governance and Magnet Forces; makes data‑driven decisions.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the provision of safe patient care, in a manner that is consistent with professional standards and hospital policies. S/he will role‑model performance and behaviors that are consistent with the values of the organization, furthering its mission, vision and strategic plan.

• Req Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing
• Req 5 years as an RN with a minimum of 3 years ICU experience and 2 years in Pre‑Op and PACU
• Req 2 years’ experience in a management or charge nurse capacity in a clinical and/or hospital position

• Pref Master’s degree in Nursing or in progress;
  Master’s may be in lieu of Bachelor’s
• Pref Critical Care Nursing Certificate – CCRN (AACN) or CRN

• Req Registered Nurse – RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing) Valid California License
• Req Basic Life Support (BLS) – Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
• Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) – must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held
• Req Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
