Overview
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) II provides a variety of administrative, clinical nursing, health education, and outreach services within the community health center. Basic skills for physical assessment include observation, auscultation, palpation and percussion. Basic mental status assessment includes observation of general behavior, appearance and attitude, collection of data relative to sensorium or orientation to time, person and place, and assessment of recall ability.
When the LVN notes a problem, complication or abnormality, he/she must notify the physician or Registered Nursing Supervisor under whose direction the licensee functions. The LVN cannot independently evaluate or synthesize data. The LVN II have additional lead duties.
Lead Duties
Provides advanced nursing care while leading and mentoring clinical staff. Oversees patient care coordination, delegates tasks based on scope of practice, supports staff development through training and mentorship, and collaborates on quality improvement and audit readiness. Serves as a clinical resource and ensures adherence to policies and procedures.

Registered Nurse Supervisor, Program Manager, Clinic Administrator or designee - Technical/Clinical:
Licensed Independent Practitioner in consultation with the Director of Nursing Services or designee
Qualifications
Must have graduated from an LVN program and have at least two (2) years of experience in an ambulatory care facility, with patient education expertise preferred, and have worked in one or more of the following areas:
A) Family planning, Title X program
B) Prenatal or Perinatal CPSP
C) Adult care, and/or chronic diseases (Diabetes, Asthma, Hypertension)Experience must have been as a Licensed Vocational within a United States Licensing JurisdictionMust be a high school graduate or have a GED equivalency.Satisfactory completion of a state-approved program in vocational nursing, plus current license to practice in the State of California.Must maintain a current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification, in compliance with corporate CPR Policy.Displays qualities of dependability and reliability, is willing to accept a variety of tasks, and can comprehend quickly and follow instructions accurately.Be able to communicate tactfully and empathetically, with cultural sensitivity, with staff, patients, and family members.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.Must be willing and able to work a varied and flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of NEVHC and its patients.Must demonstrate through written and oral testing the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, and know the principles of growth and development over the life span.
