Clinic Manager, RN - Neurosciences Clinic (Full Time, 8 Hour Days, Exempt, Non-Union)
The Clinic Nurse Manager holds 24‑hour accountability for the quality of patient care, efficiency of operations, and human resources management for the assigned area(s). They strive to achieve an optimal patient experience in a cost‑effective manner, applying evidence‑based leadership and practice. The Manager is responsible for the provision of safe patient care, consistent with professional standards and hospital policies. They promote a positive environment, supervise charge nurses and front‑line staff, maintain a stable and productive staff, involve staff in Shared Governance and Magnet Forces, and make data‑driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities include:
overseeing outpatient operations, staffing, and human resources for assigned clinics; ensuring compliance with organizational goals and regulatory requirements; managing therapeutic care (triage, procedures, infusion, pre‑operative clearance, postoperative care); serving as primary competency validator/educator; providing therapeutic care to patients and families in the outpatient setting; maintaining privacy, safety, and confidentiality; ensuring safety and infection control compliance; problem‑solving with clinical staff and coordinators;
managing daily infusion center operations; and other duties as assigned.
- People:
Daily rounding with Purpose on Charge Nurses and Patients; promote effective communication and relationships; lead Unit Council meetings; track progress; select and retain qualified nursing staff; collaborate with Education Department and Human Resources for orientation, training, and continuing education; lead recruitment and retention; facilitate training for nursing students; serve as coach and mentor. - Quality:
Understand governing regulations, Title 22, and Joint Commission requirements; maintain nursing practice standards; implement unit‑based performance improvement program; support shared governance; develop customer service standards; communicate quality monitoring to staff; ensure completion of occurrence reports; notify Risk Management of significant events. - Service:
Coordinate and integrate department services at all levels; plan provision of services for Neurosciences patients; establish policies and procedures; lead patient experience initiatives; communicate scores to staff and drive practice changes. - Cost:
Use budget to find effective care delivery methods; plan goals for nursing department; monitor space/resource utilization; approve staffing deviations; flex staff based on acuity, census, and budget; approve time‑off and shift requests; apply HR policy; complete payroll. - Growth:
Coach and mentor nurses; monitor new hire progress; ensure mandatory staff training attendance; promote Shared Governance, Magnet, and Just Culture philosophy. - Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as an RN.
- Minimum 2 years in a formal management position.
- Computer literate in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, planning, evaluation, and communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and results‑driven outcomes.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organization/time‑management skills.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or in progress (strongly preferred; may substitute for Bachelor’s).

- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
