Job Overview
Job OverviewThe LVN, Street Medicine, provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The LVN, Street Medicine, functions as an Alta Med ambassador by welcoming and attending to the needs of patients in Alta Med’s Street Medicine Program, creating a positive patient experience by managing expectations while demonstrating compassion and respect. The LVN tasks include taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy, gathering data, and administering medication.
The LVN verifies medication for Medical Assistants within the LVN's scope of practice.
- Graduation from an accredited LVN school with a current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
- Minimum of 1 year of providing patient care in an outpatient/inpatient, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, or clinic setting preferred.
- IV certified preferred.
- Preferred wound care experience.
- Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of the patients.
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location preferred.
- A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Pay for this job starts at $34.75 hourly
