The Clinical Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, the Clinical Supervisor may assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned. The role involves developing and implementing departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations.
Clinical Supervisors prepare, conduct, and/or oversee department orientation and training of personnel, communicate with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally, and are responsible for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. They assist the Department Director in daily operations, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring proper use of time, equipment, and staff, and performing direct patient care as needed within scope of practice.
They continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.
Education, Experience, Training
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing (BSN) preferred. RN‑C within 2 years of hire preferred
- PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is 44.72 to 64.77.
The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, taking into account skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
