RN Clinical - 6S Telemetry - Full Time 12 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Union)

Keck Medicine of USC is seeking a Registered Nurse for 12 hour days (Non-Exempt) (Union) on the 6S Telemetry unit.

• Follows policies and procedures; demonstrates ability to access online manuals.
• Transfers learned scientific knowledge into practical application in applying the Nursing Process.
• Performs assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation according to the nursing process.
• Administers medication and IV therapy appropriately at prescribed intervals.
• Documents care, retains chart checks, and completes flow sheets.
• Provides patient/family education, orientation, and knowledge transfers.
• Collaboration with Case Manager, physician, and interfacility transfer; ensures discharge planning.
• Utilizes patient care equipment safely; manages restraints and safety audits.
• Communicates effectively with all team members via shift reports, hand-offs, rounds, e‑mail, and hand‑off reports.
• Manages time, prioritizes responsibilities, and meets shift deadlines.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory agency requirements including patient safety goals, universal protocol, medication reconciliation, clinical alarms, hazardous waste, biohazard, HIPAA, OSHA, and JCAHO readiness.

• BSN (or grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019)
• 1 year acute inpatient hospital experience in the United States.
• Excellent communication skills and English proficiency.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions appropriate for whole blood collection and apheresis procedures.
• Commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

• Specialty Certification.

• Registered Nurse (RN) – CA Board of Registered Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• Fire Life Safety Training – LA City.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (required for intensive care, step‑down, and telemetry).
